PRESS RELEASE

Olympic Year Running Registration Rescue.

Tough Guy 2011Rescue? Yes, rescue British Running Clubs’ funds.

1982  Chris Brasher proposed that all runners should pay a fee to support the great British clubs which were the window of opportunity to Get Kids Safely off Streets.  Joined by Billy Wilson as secretary.  The authorities of that time were badgered with massive efforts.

It didn’t happen because Fun Runs were allowed to be unlicensed.

1987 Tough Guy™ was created to be Fun Run the Extreme after 5 years of frustrating banging the table. (see attached from Chris)

2012  Tough Guy™ style copycat events are raging similar to 1982 Marathon boom.

USA based clever clogs with fancy websites and massive Facebook advertising are swamping the country with high priced Tough Guy™ imitation obstacles.

The losers will be the local clubs and good causes.

Tough Guy™ is campaigning for legislation to make every organiser pay a tithe to British Running Registration, a governing body to create rules for safety, health and happiness.

Sport/running Stadiums/Help Us Get Kids Safely off Streets

To filter the moneys raised through to the British sport stadiums. This is the greatest opportunity to bring Wayward Kids into main stream.

Bonus

Historical Registration Scheme

1981 Chris Brasher/John Disley saw in London Marathon the vision of the Family of Man.

1982 Chris proposed a registration scheme that everyone who wished to compete in a mass running event must be registered and receive a unique personal code.

Chris invited the prominent organisers to meet with the AAA to discuss the proposal and to use the new technology of the computer.  Billy Wilson then shouldered the responsibility to join Chris Brasher to customise every event to be a permit payer. We worked long and hard to make it happen to harness the mass of wonderful energy that was gushing from the phenomenon of Marathon running.

Tough Guy 2011The AAA in all of their wisdom faulted by their ambitions to create elitism and glory to those with unique talents.  They chose to make, Athletic time and distance events, the recognised permitted events whilst they classed the mass enjoyable events as Fun Runs and not licenced by AAA.

1987  Billy Wilson adopted the ultimate Fun Run name of Mr Mouse and created Tough Guy™ leaving the confusion of AAA varied volunteers’ opinions behind. This was exacerbated by because the governing body which he and Chris had fought so hard to establish decided to ostracise Tough Guy™ as not compliant with road running membership.

Tough Guy™ has today blown a huge hole in the side of the mighty British Athletics and has opened the door to profiteers who now see the greed of copying Tough Guy™ as the easy Fun Run. To make themselves huge profits as the world of eager runners rush to pay silly fees to compete in lesser Tough Guy™ style Fun Runs. But do not contribute to the Governing body.

Care and safety have been shrouded by machoism of the individual to throw themselves in to high risk situations that must bring disaster and serious injury to some unfortunates.

As the creator of Tough Guy™ it is my responsibility to launch steps to control under a governing body.

Ever smiling,

Mr. Mouse

Mr Mouse.

British Association  Running Registration (BARR)

Tough Guy™ is a registered trademark and owns the intellectual rights to the innovations of creating obstacle tasks from mental and physical endurance within running events.  Which I give freely to the proposed Government body. Running in any form is owned by the regulating body freely elected by the Volunteer Hero ancestors who created it as The Sport.

Ultimately running of any kind is the innovation of creating running as a physical and mental ordeal to improve personal endeavour and prowess. That governing body became Amateur Athletics Association, transforming into British Athletics and for a better wording UK Athletics.

That body has created the Amateur Club system which is spread throughout Great Britain. Its objectives are to offer sport in all aspects of athletics to kids off the street.  (It could be ALL SPORTS). It is operated by local hero volunteers who, with full meaningful input, do improve life for kids on the streets. Its impoverished budgets are funded by meagre grants and local authority small offerings. Sponsorships are poured into publicity for those who become exceptionally talented but the kids off the street back end coaches,  are funded only by enthusiasm.

Conclusion

ALL running events must register with the governing body and pay a percentage of their entry fee direct at source.

This will provide a foundation to the sport of running in the most beneficial ways.

Overall Insurance Policy

We must consider the unfortunate which could be any one of us.

1)            Broken neck or vertebrae resulting in severe or permanent injury.

2)            Weil’s Disease

This is present in its broader form of leptospirosis in all open waters and mud.  There is no known cure.

We who survive a lifetime of enjoyable participation in running events do accept that it is a worthy donation from our entry fee plus a part of our personal donation to ensure that unfortunates will benefit.

Big Society Legislation

The Government should pass a bill through Parliament to ensure that this measure of entry fee taxes are imposed to go direct to the governing body of running.
